Does your SYC cheerleader LOVE cheering with SYC? Is she motivated to do well in cheer?
Does she have good cheer and dance skills?
Then SYC All-Stars may be for her!
What is SYC All-Stars?
The SYC All-Star squad is a special performance squad that does require additional practices in addition to regular season cheer practices. All-Star cheerleaders serve as leaders and role models to all of the cheerleaders and are expected to demonstrate exemplary behavior and represent SYC in a positive manner at all games, practices, special events and within our community.
*What do the All-Star cheerleaders do?
- All-Stars perform in local parades such as the City of Fairfax 4th of July Parade!
- All-Stars attend a summer UCA cheer camp to learn dances, cheers, stunts, and more!
- All-Stars perform at the End-of-Season Pep Rallies for regular SYC Fall and Winter seasons!
- All-Stars perform at various events, such as GMU games and regional high school competitions!
- All-Stars participate in youth cheer competitions!
- All-Stars participate in fundraising and team-bonding activities!
*Each All-Star season will vary from season to season, however, these are typical All-Star squad activities.\
Requirements for trying out:
- Cheerleader must have participated in at least 2 seasons of SYC cheer. (Other equivalent experience may be approved at the discretion of the Cheer Commissioner.)
- Cheerleader must be a rising 3rd grader.
For Try-outs:
The cheerleader will perform a short dance, a cheer, and demonstrate 1 or 2 jumps. Dance and cheer will be provided. More information to come.
