SYC Cheer is pleased to announce the upcoming Cheer Clinic below -- hosted by South County High School Cheerleaders (many are SYC Alumni) and their new State Championship Coach - Jim Kelly!
Date: Monday, September 13, 2010
Time: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Cost: $25 per child/*Only $15 for currently registered SYC Fall Football Cheerleaders!

**If attending, please send an e-mail to lbrosemary@aol.com indicating your child’s name and whether they are currently registered for Fall Football, so that we may plan properly and SYC may provide one total check for the "$10 credit" we will be providing for our currently registered cheerleaders!
Parents should also send their child with the completed registration form (attached), a check for $25 if not currently registered, or $15 if currently registered, (SYC practice wear, or comfortable clothes and sneakers,hair tied back away from face and *NO JEWELRY).
A great way to start off the Fall Football Season for those cheering this Fall, or simply to keep your cheer skills fresh and have some FUN! The cheer clinic is open to ALL cheerleaders with or without experience---so feel free to invite your friends!

Tuesday, Sept 7 (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM) - FINAL UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION
**Please note, this will be our final cheer uniform distribution date. We have completed a distribution in two different months and two different days of the week and will have one final date. Therefore, parents must adjust their schedule to make the final distribution. Each time we issue uniforms, it requires volunteers to come in and issue. The cheer program is run solely by volunteers and we cannot add another distribution date.

FINAL Cheer Uniform Distribution will take place on Tuesday, September 7, from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. This will be the third and final distribution.All of the uniforms are brand new and we are out of a lot of the sizes. While we have additional uniforms ordered, we do not anticipate they will arrive prior to this date.
**Optional practice wear and SYC Cheer Sweatshirts and pants also available for purchase.
**Retired SYC Cheer uniforms and sweats on sale--great prices, excellent for Halloween costumes or as a keepsake!
Fall Cheer Kick-off Clinic - Completed - Thursday, August 26 (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM) @ Laurel Hills Elementary School (cafeteria) in Lorton, Virginia *This is a free clinic and open to all currently registered SYC Fall Football Cheerleaders. The cheerleaders will be taught several cheers that will be performed at the opening ceremony and some additional cheer for use during the Fall Foo tball Season and a line dance.
Fall Football/Cheer Opening Ceremony - Saturday, September 11 @ Lee High School (Start time to be determined, but mostly likely will start at noon)
****Cheerleders/Parents should hear from their coach no later than this weekend with practice day and time info!
**Regular individual squad practices begin the week of September 13 (for most schools). Some schools may allow access the week of September 7 (your coach will notify you of the first practice date for your squad and the day of the week and time for practice. *The practice day and time slot is selected by the coaches from the available allotment provided to SYC by Fairfax County. Parents are not able to request a specific practice day, time, or location.
**All currently registered cheerleaders should have heard from your coach--please contact lbrosemary@aol.com if you have not.

HOLDING AN SYC CHEER UNIFORM FROM A PREVIOUS SEASON?
Please note that holding a cheer uniform during the cheer season, when your daughter is not cheering, prevents another cheerleader from cheering in many situations. Please be considerate and return your outstanding unifom ASAP.
