PLAY WITH GRADE IS BACK!!!
In response to numerous requests over the last few years, and as a result of changes to age group rules for participation in House Soccer All-Star Soccer Tournaments, the SYC Soccer Committee has approved revisions to the House League Structure and Age Group Chart. The changes will permit players with birthdays that fall after the normal age group cut off date to play with their school grade classmates, so long as the player’s birthday is less than one full year after the age group cut off date. The revised League Structure and Age Group Chart are as follows:
A. LEAGUE STRUCTURE
1. The House Program is divided into separate, age-specific, leagues for boys and girls.
2. Cross gender placement of players will not be permitted.
3. Leagues are based on US Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) age groups as indicated below. The determining factor for placement in a league will be the player’s age as of August 1 preceding each seasonal House Soccer year (9/1 – 8/31). No child will be accepted into the program that has not turned five years of age by August 1.
4. SYC House Soccer policy does not permit players to play up or play down outside of an age group, except for “Play with Grade” noted in the Age Group Chart below. No other play up or play down requests will be granted, except under exceptional circumstances, which may only be approved by the House Soccer Commissioner.
5. Players will be initially placed in leagues based on their age on August 1 prior to the start of the current seasonal year. If a player’s age places them in an age group that is a grade below their current school grade, they may request to “Play with Grade”.

* Players that are 1 or more years older, or more than 1 full year younger, are not eligible to “Play with Grade”. REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO FIRT GAME.
** Players that have not reached age 5 on August 1 are not eligible to play House Soccer, regardless of school grade – there are absolutely no exceptions. Players that are age 4 on 8/1 are eligible to participate in the SYC Mini-Kickers Program.
