SYC Bridge Developmental Program
A Developmental Program for U-8 Players
Greetings SYC U-8 Boys & Girls Families!!
SYC House Soccer in continuing the highly successful “Bridge Program” this season. The program seeks to identify rising Under-8 (U-8) boys and girls that have genuine interest/enthusiasm for the game and have acquired and developed a very basic soccer aptitude. SYC House Soccer implemented the “Bridge Program” for those players wanting a bit more training and play in addition to what the SYC House Soccer League offers.
The purpose of the Bridge Program is to provide additional opportunities is to provide additional training and development to those players who have an interest and aptitude for playing a higher level of soccer than is available through the traditional house program. The focus of this program is clearly on individual player development and NOT on the development of competitive teams. This is not a travel program, rather an opportunity for U-8 players to train with qualified trainers and to play in a slightly more advanced environment to help them and their parents decide whether to play house soccer or tryout for a travel soccer team at the end of the U-8 year.
During this season, we anticipate putting together at least two (2) U-8 boys and (2) U-8 girls teams and potentially more based on participation. These teams will have their own coach, have tailored training specific to this age group (Monday nights @ Hooes Road Park), and compete with similar aged teams from different soccer clubs in the area, as well as the other SYC Bridge teams.
The boys and girls will receive training from a professional trainer (Monday nights) as well as from their House Soccer licensed coaches through out the week. The training sessions and games are conducted in a strict player friendly environment where coaches are instructed before the season on targeted results.
Bridge Program games (Challenge League) will be held at various locations on Sundays so as not to interfere with the House Soccer regular season games. All Bridge Program players will play with their respective House teams during the season and the Challenge League will be in addition to the regular Saturday House league games.
