Serving the Greater Springfield-South County Area
Dear Springfield-SouthCounty Lacrosse Families:

There has been a lot of information spread recently about SYC (Springfield-South County Youth Club) and SCAA (South County Athletic Association) lacrosse throughout our community.  Some of the information has been inaccurate and has apparently caused existing SYC families and new lacrosse families to inquire whether SCAA is a part of SYC; and whether families must register with SCAA if they live in a certain area.

SYC Lacrosse is a longstanding member of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL), and has been serving the greater Springfield-SouthCounty area since 1983.  SCAA's house program is not affiliated with SYC, and SCAA is not a member of the NVYLL.* Families are not required to register with SCAA, or SYC, based on their residence.  SYC’s foremost interest lies in making sure all your children get the best youth lacrosse experience possible!

Best regards,

Dave Janas
Lacrosse Commissioner
Springfield-SouthCounty Youth Club

* SCAA’s application for admission to the NVYLL was not approved by the NVYLL membership at NVYLL’s November 13, 2007 membership meeting.
