Thank You, Coaches and Team Parents
Dear Coaches and Team Parents:  Thank you!  Your dedication of time and effort is greatly appreciated by the players, parents, and everyone else associated with SYC Lacrosse.  This page is a good source of information , and will help you with your team administration.  Our objectives are to make team administration as easy as possible for you, and to enable our Coaches to focus their talents on teaching the players!  If you have any questions, comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact Dave Janas.

US Lacrosse Coach’s Training

NVYLL rules require that all Head Coaches become U.S. Lacrosse members and complete the U.S. Lacrosse Level One On-Line Course of the Coaches Education Program.  Please click here for more information and to register.  This on-line course can be completed anytime before coaching the first NVYLL game, from the comfort of the coach’s own personal computer.  The costs of the Level One On-Line Course, and becoming a member of U.S. Lacrosse in order to take the course, for all SYC Lacrosse coaches will be paid by SYC Lacrosse.  We also recommend all SYC Lacrosse coaches complete the U.S. Lacrosse Level TWO On-Line Course of the Coaches Education Program - again SYC covers the costs.  Please submit receipts to Dave Janas for reimbursement.

Guidelines for Using County Athletic Fields
  • Please have a copy of the County’s field permit with you at all times during practices.
  • Grass fields should not be practiced on if they have standing water or are "squishy" to the touch.
  • For park fields (such as Rolling Valley West, South Run, etc.), Coaches or Team Parents need to call 703-324-5264 for updates on field closures.
  • If someone is on a field when we have a permit for it, nicely ask them to leave for the sake of safety.  If they refuse, show them a copy of the permit and let them know you have no choice but to call the county field monitors at 703-324-5515, and if necessary the police at 703-691-2131 (please use this non-emergency number).
  • Here are more guidelines from CRS when organzied groups are still using the field when our permits begin:
