Lacrosse Equipment, Uniforms & Yearbooks
Updated 1/28/08
______________

Only players registered for the 2008 season can receive equipment - players must register on-line at least 48 hours before the equipment session (or bring their printed on-line receipt).

Players that rented equipment for the off-season must (1) close their rental agreements (this will enable us to refund equipment rental deposits less any late fees); (2) open an equipment issue agreement and change any equipment that no longer fits; and (3) be issued Spring uniforms.

Players that need equipment and uniforms need to request an appointment

*Please click here for more information about the equipment that players are issued and the equipment that players must purchase.
  • Note that players must have equipment to participate in lacrosse.
  • Appointments will only be made for Friday evenings (one night per week), at times subject to equipment volunteers’ availability.  (Please recognize that individual appointments create more work for our limited number of volunteers.)
  • If you make an appointment and fail to make it, you will be charged $25 to make another appointment.
  • There will be no exceptions to these policies.
Copies of the Spring 2007 Year Books will be available at the equipment sessions for last year’s players.

Serving the Greater Springfield-South County Area
There has been a lot of information spread recently about SYC (Springfield-South County Youth Club) and SCAA (South County Athletic Association) lacrosse throughout our community.  Some of the information has been inaccurate and has apparently caused existing SYC families and new lacrosse families to inquire whether SCAA is a part of SYC; and whether families must register with SCAA if they live in a certain area.

SYC Lacrosse is a longstanding member of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL) - a travel league, and has been serving the greater Springfield-SouthCounty area since 1983.  SCAA's house program is not affiliated with SYC, and SCAA is not a member of the NVYLL. Families are not required to register with SCAA, or SYC, based on their residence.  SYC’s foremost interest lies in making sure all your children get the best youth lacrosse experience possible!

Partnering with Physical Education Instructors
Promoting Lacrosse in Our Community
SYC Lacrosse is pleased to offer physical education instructors in grades K-8 our lacrosse starter package.  We'll loan elementary or middle school instructors 12 soft lacrosse sticks, 6 balls and the instructor's choice of an instructional video, DVD or book from our lacrosse library.  Our goal is to promote the sport in our community.*  All we ask in return is that instructors return the materials at the end of their week or two-week instructional period.  Please contact Dave Janas if you are interested.  Parents, please pass this opportunity on to your child's physical education teachers.

*Our community includes ES and MS that feed into Edison, Hayfield, Lake Braddock, Lee, South County and West Springfield HS.
