“MAKE THE DIFFERENCE”… Enabling Kids to Play Sports
Do you remember what it was like playing sports as a kid? Your first home run…an encouraging word from a coach, or the many social outlets and lasting friendships it brought to your life? Some kids may not have the opportunity to experience the joy of youth sports because of recent Fairfax County budget cuts.
In the past, Fairfax County provided 100% of the SYC sports participation fees for those who cannot pay through the Department of Community Recreation Services. Unfortunately, over the past few seasons the fee reimbursement averaged only 35% - 53% of the total registration costs. That’s a substantial loss of funds which could impact SYC’s ability to continue providing scholarships to families in need.
Although SYC strives to keep costs low, some parents experiencing a financial hardship cannot pay even the low SYC sports participation fees. SYC has never turned anyone away because of their inability to pay and we don’t intend to start now! That’s 
why we are asking you to “MAKE THE DIFFERENCE” in these kid’s lives. With your financial gift, you will be providing SYC with the resources it needs to continue to offer quality sports programs for all kids who want to play sports, regardless of their families’ financial situation.

“MAKETHE DIFFERENCE “ for 1 kid to play sports in your community for a donation of $49 - $195. This will provide registration costs for one kid to play one of our ten sports for one season. SYC offers area youth the opportunity to participate in Basketball, Bowling, Cheerleading, Football, Lacrosse, Rugby, Soccer, Softball, Field Hockey and Volleyball.
Sponsors will be recognized on the SYC website under “MAKE THE DIFFERENCE” and will receive a personalized 
thank you letter that can be proudly displayed in your home or business. Donations are tax deductible.
