Remember what it was like playing sports as a child?  The thrill of scoring, hearing your coach’s encouraging words, forming lasting friendships with teammates?  Participation in youth sports builds fitness, socialization, teamwork, skills, and much more for today’s youth- just as it did for you.

Many young athletes in Fairfax County do not have the opportunity to experience the joy of youth sports because of their family’s financial situation.  SYC strives to keep our fees as low as possible enabling most families to register their children for sports. However, without assistance, parents experiencing financial difficulties cannot afford the cost of sports participation for their children. Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services reimburses SYC for approximately 20% of qualified low-income registration discounts we provide to these families. But it’s not enough.  SYC has never turned a family away because of their inability to pay, and we don’t intend to start now!

That’s why we are asking you to “MAKE THE DIFFERENCE” in these young athletes’ lives with your financial gift.   Your gift will provide SYC with the desperately needed financial resources to continue to offer quality sports programs for all.
