House Tournament (held August 6, 2005)
The 2nd Annual House Tournament was very successful both on and off the pitch. On the pitch, the U-8 Red Dragons edged the Blue Bombers for the U-8 crown; U-8 MVP was Max Gallahan. In the U-11 age group, the Green Hornets--underdogs all season--won the championship and proved that playing hard and never giving up is a recipe for success. Green Hornet Dean Kiamos was named U-11 MVP. In the U-15 age group, the Green Machine bounced back from early defeats to win the U-15 championship, with speedster Michael Ferguson earning MVP honors.
Off the pitch, everything ran smoothly and the concession and t-shirt stands did good business. Thanks to everyone who pitched in--couldn’t have done it without you! Special thanks for going way above and beyond the call of duty goes to Cindy Cwik, Patti Griffin, Diane Killinger, Dottie Rupp, Tish Ash, Wes Griffin, Mike Barnes, and Ernest Cardwell.

Don’t forget to check out the action photos taken by C&C Sportshots at the house tournament on Saturday (and at games earlier this season). Good stuff! PRUYL Tournament (held August 6-7, 2005)
It was a long way to Lutherville, Md., but our travel teams made the journey and played well against other teams in the annual Potomac Rugby Union Youth League tournament. On Saturday, our U-11s won their bracket but lost in the Cup semifinal to the Howard County Hurricanes. Our U-15 touch team went 4-0 to win the Open Division Cup championship. Our U-13 tackle team handily beat SYA twice to take the U-13 tackle crown. And our U-15 and U-17 tackle teams both beat SYA but lost to the Maryland Exiles.
