Spring Break 2010 -- Tour to Florida
SYC West End plans to travel to Tampa/St. Petersburg area over spring break. The team will travel by passenger vans, leaving Monday March 29 and returning Saturday April 3.
Cost per player is $300, which is all-inclusive:
- Transportation to/from/around Tampa/St. Pete via passenger vans
- 5 nights lodging at La Quinta Inn, 9202 N. 30th Street, Tampa, FL 33612 (tel 813-930-6900)
- All meals
- Side trip to Clearwater Beach
- Rugby matches against 3 different opponents in the Tampa-St. Pete area
The tour is open to *all* SYC West End players, regardless of age (teams down there also have younger players, so no worries). We will need a minimum of 20 players to make this work. Parents also welcome to help with chaperoning.
Deposit of $150 is required from each player to secure a spot, and is due to Coach Flood by next Saturday 6 March. The balance will be due by Friday 19 March. Note that we will hold additional fundraisers, which may further reduce the per-player cost. Also note that in special cases, alternate payment plans may be arranged... talk to Coach Flood about this.

This will be the best rugby tour ever! And for those who don’t know, rugby tours are a great tradition at all ages and levels of the game, where you travel somewhere--another city, state, or country--and get to see the sights, play rugby, and make friendships that can last a lifetime. Don’t miss out!

Monday March 29:
- 6:00am - Leave Springfield via passenger vans
- 9:00pm (approx) - Arrive at hotel in Tampa
- 10:00pm - Bed check and lights out
Tuesday March 30
- 7:30am - Breakfast at hotel
- 9:30am - Practice and chalk talk
- 12:00pm - Lunch near hotel
- 1:00pm - Open time for swimming, relaxing at hotel
- 4:30pm - Team assembly
- 5:00pm - Depart hotel for travel to game location in Lutz
- 6:00pm - Games vs Tampa Sharks U-19, with dinner to follow (hosted by Sharks)
- 9:30pm - Return to hotel
- 10:30pm - Bed check and lights out
Wednesday March 31
- 7:30am - Breakfast at hotel
- 9:30am - Team assembly
- 10:00am - Depart hotel for travel to Clearwater Beach
- 7:00pm - Dinner then return to hotel, open time for swimming and relaxation
- 10:30pm - Bed check and lights out
Thursday April 1
- 7:30am - Breakfast at hotel
- 9:30am - Practice and chalk talk
- 12:00pm - Lunch near hotel
- 1:00pm - Open time for swimming, relaxing at hotel
