SYC "Screaming Eagles" Rugby was founded in Summer 2000 as one of the first youth rugby programs in Virginia. The program offers touch and tackle rugby for boys and girls ages 6 to 18.
For touch rugby, SYC offers teams in three age groups: U-9, U-11, and U-15. All touch teams are co-ed. For tackle rugby, SYC offers boys teams in the U-13, U-15, U-17, and U-19 age groups, and a girls team in the U-15 age group. Note that tackle teams are boys-only or girls-only. Most teams play a Summer season, with exception of U-19 which plays in the Spring. See the program guide for full details.
SYC Screaming Eagles teams compete primarily in the Virginia division of the Potomac Rugby Union Youth League (PRUYL), which consists of 25+ clubs in the Baltimore-Washington region. The U-19 team plays in the Virginia High School Rugby League.
