Team practices are underway every Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-8:00 at Franconia District Park, 6400 Bowie Drive, Springfield. All teams U-11 and older practice both days; U-9 teams practice only on Tuesdays. See Practice Info - Summer 2009 for important information.

New Age Ranges in Summer 2010
Quick FYI that next year the age ranges will change, so that eligibility for a given age group will be based on the calendar year. So, for example, kids born January 1, 1995, or later will still be eligible to play U-15. This is all based on a Rugby Virginia youth league decision. More info to come.

Fields/Weather Status:
Fairfax County fields status is available on 703-324-5264 or FCPA web site. Updated by 3pm Mon-Fri; no update on weekends. Unless FCPA says a given field is closed, or if it’s the weekend, any decision to cancel will be made at the field based on current weather and field conditions. SYC West End U-19 Team Narrowly Loses State Championship Game on June 6
June 6, 2009 -- SYC West End played a great game but came up short against a talented Western Loudoun team in the Rugby Virginia High School Championship game. Final score 13-10. Down 10-0 going into the 2nd half, SYC West End climbed back into the game to tie it up at 10-10, but with 10 minutes left gave up a penalty that allowed WL to go up 13-10. SYC West End mounted a furious effort in the closing minutes but ran out of time. Check out the SYC West End U-19 page for further info about the season.
