Two (2) “E" License Certificate Training Opportunities Available

August 14th-16th or August 28th-30th

SYC is please to offer Springfield / South County Youth Club Coaches two (2) exclusive opportunities for continued soccer education and obtain your E Licenses. This training is primarily focused for Coaches of U-12 and above, however it is not restricted to those age groups.

These training opportunities have been specifically coordinated in response to your requests for higher education and training. Obtaining this certificate not only supports and promotes the Club’s position of having licensed/certified coaches, but even more so, it provides you the next level of training and confidence to further your coaching experience with SYC. With over 200 coaches within SYC’s soccer programs, SYC is looking for at least 20 coaches to register for each course (for a total of 40 coaches).

These two (2) VYSA approved courses will be held 14-16 August & 28-30 August, both at a local Springfield location for your convenience (Washington Irving Middle School).

o Interested Coaches must print and fill out the attached VYSA Course Registration

o Send the VYSA Course Registration Form and check, payable to SYC, for $60 in advance of the class to Jorge Diaz, contact info below.

o All attendees will receive information from the VYSA instructor in advance of the class.

REMEMBER: SYC will reimburse the $60 fee to SYC coaches that complete the course.

The "E" Certificate is designed for the parent/coach who may or may not have any previous soccer playing or coaching experience. The curriculum focuses on the development of the player, both individually and as part of the team. The emphasis will be to build on the player’s technical development by applying tactical concepts within a team environment. The candidate should be 16 years of age or older.

Objectives:

To prepare coaches working with players U-12 and older by expanding their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the development process necessary for players these ages.
To provide an understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition.
To prepare coaches for whom this represents their final coaching course, as well as, those who plan to continue to further their coaching education.

Curriculum (18 hours):

Classroom / Theory
Methods of Coaching, Team Management, Tactics, Laws of the Game, and Care and Prevention of Injuries.
Field / Practical
Dribbling, Passing, Receiving, Shooting, Heading, Goalkeeping, Defending, and Attacking.
Comprehensive Assessment & Review
Practice Coaching and a non graded take home exam on tactics and methods.

** Attendance at all 18 hours is mandatory.
