House Soccer Coaches Cup
Fall 2009
On Sunday, 15 November 2009, the weather couldn’t have been better for the SYC House Soccer League Directors and Coaches to meet on the pitch to settle a score - a score for bragging rights, bragging rights to be the Fall Season 2009 Coaches Cup Champions.
Over 45 League Directors and Coaches, some with over 20 years of playing experience and many with none, converged on the turf at Lee High School to battle it out in a friendly, but competitive match. The teams were divided so the Girls’ coaches (white) faced off against the Boys’ coaches (dark).
This hard pressed match was a great challenge for all that played. Some were challenged to control the ball, while others were challenged to catch their breath! Nonetheless, they came together with great pride and spirit to represent their leagues and share their love for the game.
This season the Boys’ Coaches were victorious with a 3-2 win over the Girls’ Coaches. Below is a picture of the victorious Boys’ Coaches team (not all represented) with the Coaches Cup Trophy.
I just want to thank all of the coaches that participated in this season’s match. I look forward to more coaches coming out in the future. Seeing the camaraderie is clearly the reason why we do this!!!
