The Springfield Youth Club offers both house (recreational) and travel (competitive) programs that play both in the fall and the spring. About 2,800 boys and girls play soccer each season. In order to provide these kids with a quality program, over 300 coaches and many other parents will contribute countless hours of volunteer time. The SYC Soccer Program is designed to provide everyone with a positive experience, teach soccer skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while contributing to the enjoyment, general health and social needs of the participating boys and girls in the Northern Virginia area.
The House Soccer Program is open to all youths and is divided into separate divisions for boys and girls. Games are played between SYC teams made up of players of the same age and sex. The leagues for the youngest players, U-6 through U-8 focus primarily on skill development.
The Travel Program is for those desiring to play soccer at a higher competitive level. It is divided into boy and girl divisions by age. SYC Travel players participate in one of three travel leagues sanctioned by Virginia and Maryland Youth Soccer Associations: National Capital Soccer League, Washington Area Girls’ Soccer League and Old Dominion Soccer League. All interested youths are eligible to compete for positions on SYC travel teams through open tryouts. For more specific details go to travel soccer link below.
Registration for Fall Soccer is held during June and July. Registration for Spring Soccer is held during the months of January and February.
