Greenspring Village Field Policy
The field at Greenspring Village, under the Friend of the Field program, is maintained by Springfield South County Youth Club (SYC) in cooperation with Fairfax County Public School System (FCPS). FCPS utilizes this location to support a cooperative education program for local area high school students and has allowed SYC to utilize the field during the Spring and Fall for their seasonal sports. However, for many seasons, the field, construction site, and neighborhood have been taken advantage of and SYC is in jeopardy of losing the field for future use. In maintaining a harmonious relationship between SYC, FCPS, and the neighborhood, SYC is implementing a policy that will benefit the field, the neighborhood, and SYC and its partnering clubs. The following policy, effective immediately, will provide SYC a means to maintain the field at Greenspring Village for future use for soccer practices and games.
The following policy must be adhered to by all parents and players of sports teams using the field at Greenspring Village without exception. Parents and players using the field at Greenspring Village:
- Must park in the designated sport’s field parking lot or on Spring Village Drive; however, parking on any part of Springville Court is prohibited.
- Must obey all road or construction signs and avoid all construction areas.
- May not utilize the field prior to 5pm, Monday – Friday.
- Must promptly leave premises after practice or game is completed. Absolutely no loitering.
- Must clean up after yourself and/or team prior to leaving the premises. The field and parking lot must remain clear of all trash and debris. The construction site trash disposal container may not be used for sporting event trash or debris.
- Must be mindful of the families living in the neighborhood (no excessive noise or yelling, remain on sidewalks, pick up garbage and trash, etc.). This is where they live, not you.
Failure to obey these rules may result in the following actions:
- Suspension of field for practices or games;
- Forfeit of game by the violating team (this includes team’s family & visitors); and/or
- Banning future use of the field to violating team or player(s).
