SYC Travel Teams,

We have not picked up up the temporary Fairfax Ccounty field use permits yet normally takes place in July.

The permits/fields normally open up in August.

Travel teams should begin putting together their requests for practice times and locations, limited to twice a week and 90 minutes, Per the County, lighted fields during the week go to adult groups. Recommend you put at least a primary and backup location along with primary and alternate dates/times. Later in July, we will publish a date to get these requests into Carolyn Brennan at the SYC Office.

We have 50 travel teams and there are 200+ house teams that will begin practicing during the third or fourth week of August.

Any scrimmages or friendly tournaments must be scheduled through Carolyn Brennan as well. The best weekends would be August 23-24 and Labor Day weekend, since most travel teams will be playing in preseason tournaments on those two weekends. Do not assume that you can reserve more than one field for more than a few hours.

Coaches for multiple teams need to state that in your permit request and list both teams in back to back situations.

U9 and U10 will have priority for practice space on their assigned game fields.  

Allocation for Hooes Road Park, West Springifeld HS and Greensprings and South Run Park is to be determined.

All rectangular fields will be divided into thirds with a right third, central third, and left third open for reservation.

If you have access to a private neighborhood field (Newington Forest, Crosspointe, Hunt Valley, or other) do not request a reservation from SYC.

Encourage greater use of Mondays and Fridays since most teams practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
