Springfield VA (April 1, 2019)—Springfield South County Youth Club (SYC) is pleased to announce its acceptance to become an ALL IN member club of Club Champions League (CCL) as of Fall 2020 and wants to thank the Club Champions League (CCL) board of directors and Executive Director Brian Kuk for their support during the application process.
SYC’s participation will begin this summer with CCL Men's and Women's PRO23 teams (the SYC Head Coaches for the SYC PRO23 teams will be announced next week with registration information). In fall 2019, SYC will participate in the CCL Championship (U11-U18 boys and girls second teams) and the CCL NextGen (U9-U10 boys and girls first and second teams). SYC Soccer U11-U18 boys and girls Top teams will join the CCL Premiership in the fall 2020 to complete the full CCL Programing for SYC Soccer.
The Club Champions League (CCL) is the first, and largest, club-based youth soccer league in the United States. With four distinct, competitive divisions, the league has over 10,000 participants, and over 60,000 registered youth soccer players within CCL member clubs. The CCL is larger than some state associations. The CCL offers a holistic club-based development model with its primary focus on the development of the very best youth soccer players in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. As the first youth soccer league to implement the club-based model and club-to-club matchday, the CCL is the leader in the youth soccer landscape. The club-to-club matchday offers a unified league schedule where all teams from one club, host or travel to another club, boys and girls, and play all matches at one location. The CCL and its member clubs have over 20 years of experience in the club-to-club matchday!
SYC Soccer Technical Director Esteban "Este" Maldonado had this to say "I have personally seen all the benefits CCL brings to player development and club development, for example CCL covers from U9 Scrimmagefests all the way up to the PRO23s and in between they offer the CCL NextGen, CCL Premiership, CCL Championship, Generation Adidas Events, the CCL Championship Showcases, the CCL College ID Combines, the CCL College Showcases events, and the CCL United international program. All these add up to be the best league in the United States, in my opinion, and it shows the Power of the League because it looks after every player."
