We have 2 NEW classes open for registration

  • Go to www.vadcsoccerref.com click on NEW referee.
  • Print instructions so you can follow them as you navigate the registration process.
  • Cost of registration is $80.00.
  • Cost of the referee’s starter kits (uniform, whistle, flags, card etc…) can vary in price depending on your selection $45-$75.
  • Starter kits can be purchased at: www.officialsports.com OR www.scoresports.com

PARENT INTEREST MEETING

We will also be holding a PARENT INTEREST meeting on January 5 from 1PM-until all questions are answered.

LOCATION: Kings Park Community Center, 8942 Burke Lake Road (right next door to Hunan Restaurant: LOOK UP, sign is above entrance)

We will discuss:

  • How to become certified
  • What to do once you are certified
  • How to get assignments
  • How pay works and pay scales
  • How to be assigned tournaments and the varies different levels of games and tournaments in this area.
  • How to work with multiple assignors/clubs.

BECOME A REFEREE!

Referees are paid positions.

If you are interested in refereeing for Springfield/South County Youth Club, but are not yet certified as a USSF Soccer Referee, please follow these instructions below.

To become a referee:

  • Go to:  www.vadcsoccerref.com

  • Click on “CLINIC LISTING” on the left-hand side of the page.

  • Read the instructions: then click on the URL in blue on the page. This URL will take you to a list of courses being offered.

  • Click on the course type in blue to get a list of the courses being offered.

  • Click on the course number in blue, next to the course date, to get more information about the course.

New referees will either take a NEW 9 or a NEW 8 course.

Grade 9*

Are permitted to center referee recreational games up to the 14 year old level and to assistant referee recreational & travel games up to the 14 year old level.

Grade 8* 

Are permitted to center referee recreational or travel up to the19 year old level and can assistant referee any type of game to include adult games. Your assignor would decide what you are qualified to do.

*Please note: Grade level refers to the level of the referee not grade in school.

Once you have attended the Certification Clinic and passed the test please obtain the Official US Soccer Referee Uniform (as listed on www.ussoccer.com). See more about referee uniforms below.

Also contact Sharon at sharon.deplitch@verizon.net to get placed on the email and mail distribution lists to ensure that you receive vital information about upcoming referee events as well as be updated on the process for getting assignments, officiating matches, etc.

Referee Uniforms

What is required for a Complete Referee Uniform?

The US Soccer Referee Uniform is listed below:

  • Gold USSF Referee Jersey - Primary
  • Black USSF Referee Jersey - Secondary, not required at this time. Only required as you get older and do more competitive, and higher profile matches. You can still have it and use it if you like.
  • Red USSF Referee Jersey - Secondary, not required at this time. Only required as you get older and do more competitive, and higher profile matches. You can still have it and use it if you like.
  • Blue USSF Referee Jersey - Secondary, not required at this time. Only required as you get older and do more competitive, and higher profile matches. You can still have it and use it if you like.
  • Black Referee Shorts
  • Black Socks with Three Stripes at top
  • Primarily Black Shoes
  • Accessories to include: Whistle, watch with countdown timer, game cards, writing utensil, referee book (the thing that holds the red and yellow cards and game cards, current US Soccer Referee Badge.

You are required to be in complete uniform for any match that you are assigned. Please wear the uniform with pride...shirts tucked in, socks pulled all the way up to below the knee, etc.
