Past Fundraising

1. Restaurant:

  • Inside dining/take out/delivery.

  • SYC receives a percentage of total sales for a specific date.  Families are encouraged to frequent the restaurant and a percentage of proceeds are donated back. Some restaurants require the customer to mention SYC to count (or produce a flyer) and others give the total of all sales, even from walk-ins. Each restaurant is different and provides a form for the fundraising coordinator to complete. Some popular restaurants for this kind of fundraiser are Ledos Pizza, Glory Days, Chipotle. Sweet Frog has not been successful in the past.

2. Spirit wear sales:

  • All designs must be approved by the branding committee and can be done through the fundraising request process.

  • Sport estimates the quantity of items they think will be sold. Product is purchased outright and sold on location directly to families. Leftover merchandise (if any) is often discounted and sold at a loss.

  • Merchandise store online: Orders are placed and paid for by the customer online and shipped directly to the customer. No overhead to carry. The item’s negotiated discount costs are inflated and the difference between the two is given back as profit to the club from the online store host. This is usually not more than 15% or 20 %

  • Orders taken for specific items by coordinator during a set period. Items shipped in bulk to SYC and handed out on location.

  • Please refer to the Fundraising Request Form and Policy for spirit wear platforms used for sales as proceeds are required to go directly into SYC’s bank account.

3. Solicitation of Direct Donations:

  • From membership and the community: Usually done through the SYC website or one of the approved fundraising platforms.

  • From individuals. Usually done on location with players in uniform.

  • From companies. Usually done by email or written communication.

4. Direct Product Sales:

  • Products from fundraising companies such as candles, pizzas, popcorn, chocolate, or cookie dough are offered for sale via online and/or printed catalogs. Money is collected by SYC through orders and sent back to the fundraising company minus profit that was previously determined.

  • Jewelry, Pampered Chef, etc. A percentage of sales for a specific show goes to the sport/team.

5. Sports Ticket Sales:

  • Tickets are advertised (sometimes as group sales at a discount) and a purchase link is given for sales.

  • Prepaid tickets for event and sell on own for a profit or loss if not sold.

  • SYC gets a percentage of tickets sold for SYC night at venue.

  • Example: Wizard’s basketball tickets. Wash Spirit tickets.
