SYC is a member of the Norther Virginia Youth Football League (NVYFL), along with fifteen other youth clubs.  NVYFL is an age/weight based league.  Team placement is determined by BOTH age & weight, not age alone.   Age/Weight Matrix details can be found here.  The football season runs Aug-Nov. 

Players must have a Virginia DMV ID card for the 2024 season.  NO of form of identification will be accepted by NVYFL at the official weigh-in sessions.  Neither a Passport, military ID, school ID, birth certificate, nor any combination thereof will be accepted.  If you cannot procure a VA DMV ID card for your player prior to August 24, please contact Commissioner Mike Warbel.  

The ID card is not needed for equipment issue, Preseason Camp, nor practices.  The ID is only used once, at a mandatory NVYFL weigh-in.  Players weigh-in one time only.

The SYC Football program has provided fundamental instruction in the game of football for over 35 years.  This is accomplished through an emphasis on sportsmanship, team play, self-discipline, maximum effort, integrity, and maximum participation. We have players from the Hayfield, Lake Braddock, Lewis, Robinson, South County, & West Springfield high school pyramids, but the program is open to anyone in Fairfax County.  The success of our program is driven by the level of commitment and support provided by our volunteer coaches, players, parents, volunteers, and community that goes above & beyond the average youth program.

Our club provides an opportunity for beginners to experienced players from age 7-16.
