SYC seeks committed volunteers willing to contribute their time, energy and expertise to develop policy and promote SYC's mission. This is an exceptional opportunity to foster the growth and development of a local nonprofit organization devoted to youth sports and the community at large. Interested candidates must send an email summarizing your professional and/or personal experience and why you are interested in serving on SYC's Board of Directors. Email Laura Vaughn, Operations Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than July 31, 2020 in order to have your name placed on the ballot for the August General Annual membership meeting.
We will be holding a Facebook LIVE meeting on Thursday, August 27th at 7:30pm. We will have current board members and candidates attend the meeting in person with social distancing in place in a meeting room. Elections will be held live, on-line, through a platform selected by SYC.
Attend regular meetings of the Springfield South County Youth Club Board of Directors, which are each approximately two hours in duration. The board meets (12) times per year. Board members must be accessible for personal contact in between board meetings.
Provide leadership to board committees. Each board director is encouraged to serve as an active, ongoing member of at least one committee. This requires a number of meetings per year plus individual committee task completion time. Current and past committees included Marketing & Social Media, Fundraising, Policy Committee, and Finance Committee.
Prepare in advance for decision-making and policy formation at board meetings; take responsibility for self-education on the major issues before the board.
Responsibly review and act upon committee recommendations brought to the board for action.
In general, utilize personal and professional skills, relationships and knowledge for the advancement of Springfield South County Youth Club.
Thank you for considering how you could positively impact our club through volunteering for the Board of Directors!
