Love cheer? Ready to take it to the next level as an All-Star Cheerleader? Tryout for the SYC All-Star Cheer squad! SYC All-Stars is a year-round performance squad that participates in various events throughout the year and represents the SYC Cheer program. This year the All-Stars participated in the Fairfax City 4th of July parade, Varsity summer cheer camp, the SYC Football playoff game, Navy football halftime performance, and competitions this spring.

About Tryouts:

• Tryout Dates

  • Friday, April 12th from 6PM-9PM @ Hunt Valley ES gym

  • Saturday, April 13th from 5PM-8PM @ Burn Boot Camp, 648 South Pickett Street, Alexandria

• The All-Star Director and 2 assistants will teach a dance and cheer on Friday. Video of dance and cheer will be provided on Friday.  Tryout on Saturday.

• Tryout: Perform dance, cheer, and jumps in front of panel of coaches in groups of 2 or 3 cheerleaders.

• Who is Eligible: Current 3rd-7th graders with at least 1 season of rec cheer, unless in 7th grade. Candidate should demonstrate exemplary team spirit, excellent cheer skills, and be able to perform a cartwheel and forward roll.

Tryouts are FREE, but candidates must be registered for tryouts to participate.
