SYC All-Stars is a year-round performance squad. We are not a competition All-Star squad—but the “All-Stars” of SYC Cheer. The team participates in different events throughout the year (parades, half-time performances, SYC Cheer Kick Offs and Pep Rallies, competitions) and represents our SYC Cheer Program. The All-Star season is May 1st to April 30th.
A cheerleader needs to be in 3rd-7th grade the year she tries out. A cheerleader needs to demonstrate exemplary team spirit, excellent cheer skills, and reliability. She needs to have cheered for a minimum of two complete seasons in the SYC Cheer Program.
SYC All-Stars practices two times per week. Practices are mandatory. All-Star cheerleaders also need to participate in rec cheer for at least one season (fall or winter) and are expected to spend time outside of practice preparing for routines. There is an additional cost for SYC All-Stars—a separate registration fee and uniform items that are required for the year, in addition to fees for performances.
